Shuswap River Waterthreads Map
Borrow: A large eleven foot by seven foot six inch fabric hand embroidered and beaded map of the Shuswap River and its tributaries. Comes with a rack for the wall hanging if you’d like it to be freestanding.
Description: The Shuswap River Waterthreads Map was created by community members in 2024 who met along the Shuswap River Watershed in Lumby, Enderby, Mara, Ashton Creek, Armstrong/Spallumcheen, Silver Star and Sicamous to hand embroider a large map that was then completed by Marie Thomas, a Splatsin Elder, who, with the assistance of Teresa Christian, hand beaded the Shuswap River.
Pre-Requisites: Space to hang or display the map that’s 11’ x 7.6” in size.
Options: You can book an artist from Runaway Moon Theatre to come and give a mini workshop on the map, how it was made and the Shuswap River and its tributaries.
