The Dance of Spring

Community members helped us celebrate the Dance of Spring at Song Sparrow Hall in Salmon Arm, BC on Sunday April 19th, 2026 from 3:30 - 6:30pm

The event featured a dance of the flowers, a tale of hope told by Secwepemc storyteller Kenthen Thomas, butterfly sandwiches, and Birchbark Dance Band!

Entrance was free (donations welcomed). Everyone was invited to wear a flower hat if they had one.

The Dance of Spring was part of the "Where in the World Are We?" Community Art Project, a collaboration between Runaway Moon Theatre, Shuswap Immigrant Services Society, and the Salmon Arm Arts Centre.

Flower Hat Workshops

Participants got prepared for the Dance of Spring by creating their own flower hats!
